Hine-pu-te-hue

Hine-pu-te-hue is known as the Kaitiaki (guardian) and spiritual female potential of the Hue (gourd). Some tribes consider her the daughter of Tane, others the daughter of Tawhirimatea. She is regarded as the deity who possesses the powers and influence to bring peace. In the ancient Creation story, when the sibling Atua (Gods) fought amongst themselves, she was the one who intervened, restoring calm and peace.

Hine-pu-te-hue enhances the development of physical growth because she carries within her the female life giving essence - a food source of the earth that sustains bodily well-being for all humanity.
